Job Description
Pertemps are currently seeking TIG Welders to join a leading manufacturing business, based in Gainsborough on a full time, ongoing basis.
What will I be paid?
- AM Shift - £14.50. Overtime, £21.75ph (Mon to Sat) & £29ph (Sun)
- PM Shift - £16.35ph. Overtime, £21.75ph (Mon to Sat) & £29ph (Sun)
Working hours:
There are 2 shifts you can choose from, you will NOT rotate
- AM Shift - Monday to Friday - 06:00 to 14:30
- PM Shift - Monday to Thursday - 14:30 to 01:00
What will I be doing as a TIG Welder?
- Welding components in stainless and mild steel using TIG or gas fusion welding techniques
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and weld symbols to meet customer specifications
- Using jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and minimise scrap
- Completing check sheets for traceability in line with standards
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Reporting any issues, defects, or safety concerns to the Team Leader promptly
What skills and experience do I need?
- Some experience in welding techniques, particularly TIG or gas fusion welding, up to 2mm thick (stainless steel)
- Ability to work from Standard Operating Procedures and use jigs/fixtures for quality control
- Health and Safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
- Reliable transport to reach site
