Are you an enthusiastic, motivated Consultant looking for an opportunity to help shape and transform a Diabetes and Endocrinology Service? We are looking for a consultant to join our team at Scarborough Hospital Site on a permanent basis.
This is a time of transformation of our department as we work towards a consultant of the week model. Our service is evolving to include teaching and research opportunities which makes this an interesting time to join us and be part of our team.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team providing a broad range of outpatient services across Scarborough, Bridlington and Malton. The catchment area encompasses both Coastal and North Yorkshire Moor areas, serving a diverse patient base.

We work closely with the well-established service at York, with access to fortnightly endocrine MDT, fortnightly adrenal MDT, weekly diabetes and pump MDT, and a pituitary MDT hosted at Hull.

Main duties of the jobYou will join our existing team of three Consultants as we develop both inpatient and outpatient diabetes and endocrinology services.
You will share inpatient ward responsibility, aiming to be a duty week rota. Significant opportunities exist to lead and develop key areas, including diabetes technology, antenatal care, and the multidisciplinary diabetic foot service.
The post includes a commitment to the General Medicine on call rota, currently a 1 in 16 pattern averaging around one weekend every two months and a monthly weekday evening cover.
