Volunteer School Governor - Drive Student Outcomes

Thank you for your interest in undertaking a voluntary role in governance at Woodlands School. We are seeking to strengthen the range of skills and experience within our governing body. Experience in education is welcomed, but not essential. Woodlands School, part of Bourne Education Trust, is an outstanding special school based in Leatherhead, Surrey. Our educational approach focuses on preparation for life, with communication and literacy at the heart of everything we do - promoting independence, community inclusion and a curiosity about the world.

Our satellite provision in Esher caters for pupils who are autistic and have learning difficulties, offering them a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where they can thrive. It represents an innovative step forward in Surrey specialist provision and we are
proud to be leading this initiative in partnership with a forward-thinking mainstream setting.

• Attending full LGC meetings (6 per year)
• Potentially serving on review panels (as required)
• Completing any training relevant to the role
• Termly monitoring visits, to take place during the school day
