Consultant in Public Health role Norfolk County Council
Norfolk County Council is seeking an outstanding Consultant in Public Health to join its ambitious and well-established Public Health team.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic leadership across a large and diverse county, working with partners across local government, the NHS, the voluntary sector and communities to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.
The post has arisen following the promotion of the previous postholder and offers the opportunity to influence major public health priorities at both local and system level.
About the Role
As a Consultant in Public Health, you will support the Director of Public Health in delivering Norfolk County Council s statutory public health responsibilities and wider ambitions to improve population health and wellbeing.
Portfolio responsibilities will be agreed with the successful candidate and are likely to include leadership of specific public health priorities, alongside locality-based partnership working within Norfolk.
Current areas where consultant leadership is particularly valuable include mental health and wellbeing, healthy ageing and reducing health inequalities, although portfolios evolve to reflect organisational priorities and individual strengths.
