Bookkeeper

I'm currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join a friendly, collaborative finance team, working closely with Client Account Managers within a pod-based structure. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fully digital, cloud-based environment and supporting multiple client accounts.

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients
• Process purchase and sales invoices end-to-end
• Complete bank and control account reconciliations
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with MTD requirements
• Assist with payroll processing where required
• Support management accounts preparation, including accruals and prepayments
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to agreed deadlines
• Work closely with colleagues to resolve queries efficiently

• Xero (daily use)
• Dext
• Fully cloud-based, paperless setup

• 2-4 years' experience in a bookkeeping role (practice experience preferred)
• Strong, practical knowledge of Xero
• Good understanding of VAT and core accounting principles
• Experience using Dext or similar document capture tools
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working in a digital, paperless environment
• Confident written and verbal communication skills

• Takes ownership of tasks and follows work through to completion
• Open to feedback and keen to learn
• Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
• Reliable, organised and deadline-focused
