Employer Relations Advisor

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / ER Advisor / Employer Relations Advisor for an initial 3-month contract via Hays.This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, proactive Employee Relations service, supporting managers and staff across a complex, multi-site environment.You will join a busy ER function and be responsible for managing casework, providing expert advice, and supporting the delivery of people initiatives that improve workforce experience and organisational outcomes.Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of employee relations issues including:
  • Absence and ill-health
  • Disciplinary and grievance
  • Performance and capability matters
• Act as a first point of contact for managers, providing advice on HR policies, employment law, and best practice.
• Support and advise on investigations and participate in formal hearings for less complex ER cases
• Analyse ER data (e.g. sickness absence trends) and provide insight to support decision-making
• Support organisational change activities, ensuring compliance with People policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to reporting, governance, and audit requirements
• Contribute to training and coaching managers, building capability and promoting best practice

Person Specification

• Proven experience in an Employee Relations / HR Advisory role, ideally within the public sector
• Strong experience managing ER casework end-to-end
• Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR policies
• Confident advising managers and influencing stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy caseload
• Available at short notice / immediately (highly desirable)
