Our client is a high-growth cloud, data, and AI engineering consultancy delivering mission-critical solutions for enterprise and scaling clients across modern cloud ecosystems.This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in shaping both technical delivery and the future growth of the Belfast team.The RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work closely with clients to design, build, and deliver scalable, production-grade applications and platforms across cloud, web, API, and data-driven environments.You'll join a highly collaborative engineering team embedded directly with enterprise clients, working on complex systems that require strong technical ownership, autonomy, and adaptability.While the initial project will involve TypeScript-focused development, the company is open to engineers from strong Java or Python backgrounds who are comfortable learning new technologies and working across a modern engineering stack.This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working independently, and wants the opportunity to grow into a future technical leadership or people management role as the Belfast team expands.What you'll be doingDesign and build scalable, enterprise-grade software solutions across frontend, backend, and cloud platformsDevelop modern APIs, backend services, and distributed systemsWork closely with client stakeholders in a delivery-focused consulting environmentBuild and deploy cloud-native applications on Google Cloud PlatformContribute to architecture decisions, engineering standards, and technical best practicesCollaborate on data-driven and AI-enabled solutionsWork across modern engineering tooling including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and containerised environmentsTake ownership of technical delivery and help shape the future engineering culture of the Belfast teamWhat you'll bringStrong commercial software engineering experience in large-scale production or enterprise environmentsHigh proficiency in at least one core backend language such as Java or PythonExperience building scalable backend systems, APIs, and modern applicationsExposure to TypeScript/Node.js or a strong willingness to work with and learn modern TypeScript technologiesExperience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or AzureStrong understanding of software architecture, engineering best practices, and scalable system designComfortable working autonomously and taking ownership in a fast-moving environmentStrong communication skills and experience working directly with stakeholders or clientsExperience mentoring others or an interest in progressing into team leadership would be highly desirableNice to haveExperience with React or modern frontend frameworksExposure to GraphQL APIsExperience with Terraform, Docker, or infrastructure-as-code toolingFamiliarity with data engineering, analytics, or AI/ML-driven systemsWhat's in it for youJoin at an early stage of a fast-growing engineering consultancyOpportunity to become a foundational hire within the Belfast teamWork on large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud and AI projectsGain exposure to cutting-edge technologies across cloud, data, and AI engineeringClear progression opportunities into technical leadership or managementHybrid working modelCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageCollaborative, engineering-led culture with genuine ownership and impact
