About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled PMLD Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of working with pupils who have severe physical and learning disabilities, complex needs, and sensory impairments.

You will play a vital role in delivering personalised, meaningful learning experiences that focus on communication, sensory engagement, and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver highly individualised lessons tailored to each pupil's needs
  • Support students with complex physical and learning disabilities, including sensory and medical needs
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
  • Use a range of communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, sensory cues)
  • Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Focus on small-step progress, celebrating all achievements
  • Ensure pupils' care, wellbeing, and dignity are always prioritised

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs is essential
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential
  • Strong understanding of sensory learning and alternative communication strategies
  • Confident supporting pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needs
  • Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
  • Passionate about inclusive education and making a difference
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
