About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled PMLD Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of working with pupils who have severe physical and learning disabilities, complex needs, and sensory impairments.
You will play a vital role in delivering personalised, meaningful learning experiences that focus on communication, sensory engagement, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver highly individualised lessons tailored to each pupil's needs
- Support students with complex physical and learning disabilities, including sensory and medical needs
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
- Use a range of communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, sensory cues)
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Focus on small-step progress, celebrating all achievements
- Ensure pupils' care, wellbeing, and dignity are always prioritised
About You:
- Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs is essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential
- Strong understanding of sensory learning and alternative communication strategies
- Confident supporting pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needs
- Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Passionate about inclusive education and making a difference
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
