A vibrant, high-achieving secondary school in Islington is looking to appoint a passionate Art & Design Teacher (ECT or experienced) to join a forward-thinking Creative Arts department from September.

Why This Role Will Stand Out on Your CV

  • A school that champions creativity across the curriculum

  • Students who are enthusiastic, expressive, and proud of their work

  • A department with excellent facilities - studios, digital resources, and exhibition space

  • Strong uptake at GCSE Art with impressive portfolios and outcomes

This is a place where Art isn't squeezed in - it's celebrated.

The Role

You will:

  • Teach Art & Design across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available for the right candidate)

  • Deliver engaging projects across fine art, mixed media, and digital design

  • Support students in building strong GCSE portfolios and creative confidence

  • Encourage independent thinking and personal artistic expression

  • Contribute to exhibitions, trips, and enrichment activities

Perfect for an ECT Because

  • Structured ECT programme with reduced timetable

  • Weekly mentoring, coaching, and feedback

  • Access to shared schemes of work - no planning from scratch

  • Supportive leadership team who actually prioritise development

  • Opportunity to grow quickly into a confident, standout practitioner

What They're Looking For

  • An Art or Design graduate with QTS (or on track)

  • Someone who is creative, enthusiastic, and full of ideas

  • A teacher who can engage students of all abilities

  • A genuine passion for art, design, and education

  • Someone looking to build a long-term teaching career

What You'll Get

  • A supportive, creative environment where you can teach your way

  • Strong CPD and progression opportunities

  • A school culture built on respect, creativity, and high expectations

  • Inner London salary + long-term career development

If you're an Art ECT who wants more than just a job - and instead wants a school where you can create, inspire, and grow - this is it.
