An established manufacturing business in Chesterfield is undergoing a major facility reorganisation and is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to play a key role in transforming the workspace. This is a hands on, varied position where you ll be central to preparing and setting up equipment and ensuring the site is fully operational throughout the transition. Facilities Maintenance Technician - Role & Responsibilities Handyman / Repairs / Maintenance
- Support the full reorganisation of the manufacturing facility, including preparing machinery and workstations for relocation
- Move equipment, tooling, and workspace setups safely and efficiently across the site (not machinery, that will be done by a sub-contractor)
- Assist with organising new work areas
- Carry out general facilities tasks such as painting floors, cleaning, and basic refurbishment work
- Perform day to day maintenance across the site (e.g. fixing doors, installing plugs, minor repairs)
- Work closely with internal teams to identify and resolve facility issues quickly
- Coordinate and liaise with external contractors for specialist work when required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment at all times

Facilities Maintenance Technician - Skills & Experience - Handyman / Repairs / Maintenance
- Previous experience in a Facilities Maintenance Technician (Handyman) or similar maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong practical skills using a range of hand and power tools
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance
- Ability to turn your hand to a wide variety of tasks with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and moving equipment
