Academics are supporting a welcoming secondary school in Swindon is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping students engage with their learning. In this role, you will provide 1:1 support and develop strong, positive relationships with pupils who require additional guidance.
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in an educational setting, as well as those considering a future career in education.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant - Main Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with complex needs following EHCP plans and working closely with the SENco
- Be a positive influence on students helping them to access education
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, supported, and understood
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working in a school or educational environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour
- DBS on update system or willing to obtain
