SEND / SEMH Teacher - Primary or Secondary

Location: Bradford

Start Date: April 2026

Contract: Full-time

Type: Long-term / Temporary

Milk Education are working closely with a welcoming school in Bradford who are looking to appoint a strong SEND/SEMH Teacher to support pupils with additional needs in either a Primary or Secondary setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEND Teacher who is confident planning and delivering tailored learning for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other additional needs.

The Role:

As a SEND/SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEND/SEMH needs
  • Planning, preparation and assessment (with allocated PPA time)
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs including SEMH, ASD and complex learning needs
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation approaches
  • Working closely with support staff, SENCO and wider professionals
  • Promoting independence, inclusion and positive behaviour strategies
  • Supporting pupil wellbeing alongside academic development
  • Adapting curriculum to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH
  • Confident in planning and delivering tailored interventions and lessons
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Flexible, resilient and proactive approachAbility to work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
Desirable:
  • Experience working within SEMH or specialist settings
  • Experience in Primary or Secondary SEND provision
  • Team Teach or positive handling training (not essential)
  • Experience supporting EHCP targets
