Job Description

My client is currently looking for a Machine Operator to join an innovative, established business on a temporary to permanent basis, based in Birtley.

This is working on a rotating shift pattern of days and afternoons.

You must be able to do both shifts.

There will also get a pay rise for the successful candidate once permanent.

Morning shift -

Monday to Friday
06:00 until 12:00
12.71 per hour

Afternoon shift -

Monday to Friday
14:00 until 20:00
14.83 per hour

Responsibilities -

Operate and monitor machinery in line with production requirements
Set up machines, including loading materials and adjusting settings
Ensure machines are running efficiently and producing quality output
Carry out routine quality checks and record results
Identify and report faults, defects, or breakdowns
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment
Read and follow work instructions, job sheets, and specifications
Meet daily production targets and deadlines
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures

Requirements -

Previous experience as a Machine Operator or within a manufacturing environment
Ability to follow instructions and work to set processes
Good attention to detail and quality standards
Basic mechanical understanding or aptitude
Strong awareness of health & safety
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload
