Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Cardiff

£40,000 - £45,000

We're looking for a motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a talented, specialist team of ground engineers in Cardiff. This is a great opportunity to become part of a close-knit team, working on a varied portfolio of projects with plenty of responsibility.

This role would suit an experienced engineer who's keen to take ownership of projects, contribute technically, and play a key role in the continued growth of the team.

The Role You'll be responsible for delivering a range of geotechnical projects from initial investigation through to design and reporting. The work spans sectors including residential, commercial, and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering ground investigations
  • Producing geotechnical design reports and specifications
  • Overseeing site work and supervising junior engineers
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Providing technical input on foundations, slope stability, and earthworks

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar
  • Proven experience in a geotechnical role (typically 5+ years)
  • Strong understanding of site investigation and geotechnical design
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
  • Working towards or already chartered (ICE or similar)
