Production Engineer

A growing manufacturing business in Exeter is looking for a hands-on Production Engineer who wants to be close to the action, not stuck behind a desk.

What you ll be doing
This is a practical role supporting fabrication and assembly operations, working closely with production and the wider engineering team.
You ll be:

• Driving continuous improvement across quality, throughput, and efficiency
• Getting involved in new product introduction, making sure designs work in production
• Supporting day-to-day manufacturing challenges on the shop floor
• Reviewing processes and implementing better ways of working
• Creating and improving production documentation and instructions
• Working with suppliers and internal teams to keep things running smoothly

It s a mix of problem-solving, improvement work, and hands-on support, not just theory.

What they re looking for

• HNC / HND (or similar) in Engineering
• Experience within manufacturing or production engineering
• Background in sheet metal / fabrication
• Strong understanding of quality and improvement tools (DFMEA / PFMEA etc.)
• Someone practical, proactive, and comfortable working across teams
