Job Description

Job Title: Employment Solicitor (1-3 PQE)
Location: Leeds
Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm (38.75 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Flexible, with hybrid and part-time options considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Employment Solicitor to join a busy and growing employment team based in Leeds.

This role is ideal for a solicitor with around 1-3 years' PQE, although applications from candidates with varying levels of experience will be considered. You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior lawyers while also managing your own caseload, offering exposure to a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.



The Role

You will advise both employers and individuals across a wide range of employment law issues, taking responsibility for your own files while contributing to the wider success of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on a full spectrum of employment law matters
  • Managing Employment Tribunal cases, including advocacy where appropriate
  • Providing practical, commercially focused HR and employment advice
  • Drafting and negotiating employment contracts and settlement agreements
  • Handling matters through ACAS early conciliation and Tribunal proceedings
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting business development initiatives, including client training and networking
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including AML


About You

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Experience handling an employment law caseload, including matters such as dismissals, redundancy, discrimination, grievances, and settlement agreements
  • Confident advising employer clients and managing tribunal matters
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Commercially aware with excellent communication and client care skills
  • Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office
