AI Project Manager
Duration: 3 months (initial)
Location: Manchester (considering London) - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Rate: 400 - 660 per day (inside IR35 - Umbrella)
Role overview:
Our client, a leading organisation, is hiring for a reputable company to support the launch of their AI First Programme. This exciting initiative aims to rapidly identify, prioritise, and realise operational value opportunities across the business using AI, GenAI, and agentic capabilities.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the day-to-day delivery of the 12-week discovery and design programme, ensuring activities stay on track.
- Maintaining programme governance artefacts, including plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, and milestones.
- Coordinating meetings, stand-ups, and governance forums, capturing notes, tracking actions, and following up on outcomes.
- Assisting with the two-week sprint cadence, monitoring progress, data requests, and upcoming deliverables.
- Preparing status updates, milestone summaries, and materials for senior stakeholder reports.
- Contributing to the assessment of business readiness for AI adoption, covering data, architecture, governance, and workforce implications.
- Supporting the delivery of evidence-backed outputs such as prioritised initiatives, value cases, and transformation roadmaps.
What you'll bring:
- Strong project management background
- Proven experience in managing complex AI or digital transformation projects.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams.
- Knowledge of data-led discovery methods, task mining, SME insights, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with programme governance tools and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage competing priorities.
Desired Skills & Knowledge:
- Understanding of AI, GenAI, and agentic capabilities.
- Experience in operational optimisation and customer journey analysis.
- Awareness of Responsible AI principles and data governance.
