What is the role?
As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored, accessible and engaging learning experiences for pupils with additional needs. You will work closely with the school's SENCO, support staff and external professionals to ensure that each child receives the support they need to reach their full potential.
This role requires a confident and experienced teacher who can adapt learning effectively, manage a varied range of needs and maintain a nurturing, structured classroom environment.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and deliver differentiated and personalised learning for pupils with SEND
Support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties
Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, contributing to EHCP targets where appropriate
Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents and external agencies
Implement strategies to support behaviour, communication and emotional regulation
Promote independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
What are we looking for?
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
Substantial teaching experience (this role is not suitable for ECTs)
Proven experience working with children with SEND in a primary setting
Strong understanding of a range of additional needs and inclusive teaching strategies
Ability to differentiate effectively and adapt learning creatively
Excellent communication, resilience and interpersonal skills
A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
