Job Description

Commis Chef Witney £12.71 per hour Monday Friday

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in Witney. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00am 3:00pm
  • Includes a 30-minute unpaid break
  • Occasional weekend and evening shifts required to support the team:
    • Weekend day rate: £15.00 per hour
    • Night shifts (6:00pm 2:00am): £16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation in line with HACCP and Health & Safety legislation
  • Support menu preparation and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality dishes
  • Work proactively as part of the kitchen team alongside the Head Chef
  • Assist with Front of House service when required
  • Ensure full compliance with allergen awareness and procedures

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
  • Allergen training (or willingness to complete training)
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure

Uniform Requirements:

  • All chefs must wear long-sleeve chef jackets and non-slip shoes at all times
