Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to join our team. The role involves driving to our palletised freight partners to collect and deliver goods. Most loading and unloading is carried out using forklift trucks; however, some use of electric pallet trucks and occasional manual handling may be required.

There may also be occasional Saturday morning trailer movements, paid as overtime.

Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties


    • Drive Class 1 vehicles to palletised freight partners for collection and delivery of goods


Health & Safety


    • Support the Transport Manager and Shift Supervisors in maintaining Health & Safety standards


    • Ensure CPC training is kept up to date (funded by the company)


    • Comply with all company and regulatory Health & Safety requirements


Client & Team Interaction


    • Communicate professionally and respectfully with pallet partners and colleagues


    • Report any issues through appropriate channels in a timely and professional manner


    • Represent the company positively at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and vehicle standards


Skills & Attributes


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


    • Comfortable working night shifts


    • Strong work ethic and reliability


Qualifications (Preferred but Not Essential)


    • Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)


    • Minimum 12 months' experience driving a Class 1 vehicle


Working Hours


    • 45 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday


    • Shift patterns:

        • 04:30 - 14:30 (approx. 90% of shifts)


        • 07:00 - 17:00 (approx. 10% of shifts)



    • Includes a 1-hour lunch break


Overtime


    • Monday support as required (contracted overtime)


    • Occasional Saturday morning work (paid as overtime)



Salary & Benefits


    • £34,000 - £37,000 per annum (depending on experience)


    • 22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
