Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately collect readings from water meters across your assigned area
  • Access meters located both externally and occasionally inside customer properties
  • Assist with identifying and reporting faulty meters and supporting exchanges
  • Resolve measured supply queries within agreed service levels
  • Record additional property details (e.g. vacant homes, properties for sale)
  • Maintain high standards of customer interaction and professionalism
  • Work efficiently to complete approximately meter readings per week

What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day
  • Pre planning your weekly routes

  • Locating meters in chambers/manholes, sometimes requiring cleaning or pumping
  • Inputting readings and notes into a handheld device
  • Engaging with customers when needed and directing queries appropriately

  • Physically fit and comfortable with walking long distances, bending, and lifting
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills for accurate data entry
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Please note:
  • A DBS check and Drug & Alcohol test are required
  • This is a lone-working role, so self-motivation is essential

  • Fuel card
  • Uniform and full training
  • Handheld device for route planning and data entry
