The Financial Reporting Team Leader role:

Part of the Finance team, the Financial Reporting Team Leader is a new and exciting role at Migrant Help. You will support the Financial Reporting Manager in maintaining accurate and appropriate finance records, ensuring compliance and contractual, grant and organizational requirements. Within this role, you will support the Financial Reporting Manager with overseeing the day to day activities of the team, providing guidance and support to ensure work is completed in line with agreed procedures, standards and deadlines. You will review outputs for accuracy and escalate issues where necessary.

Key responsibilities of our Financial Reporting Team Leader:

  • Support the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial reports
  • Ensure financial data is complete, accurate and compliant with internal controls and external reporting standards
  • Oversee the day to day team activities, allocating work, and monitoring progress to meet deadlines
  • Review team outputs to ensure consistency, quality and adherence to agreed processes
  • Support the Financial Reporting Manager in delivering reporting requirements for contracts, grants and organisational need
  • Contribute to continued improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and reporting efficiency
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support to team members, encouraging development and high performance
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, providing clear financial information and updates
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements

The experience and skills you need

  • Proven experience in a finance function, preferably Charity, in a financial reporting or management accounting position
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and validate financial information
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret and interrogate financial data
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
