Our exclusive and retained client is a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Kent, specialising in premium products for the UK market. The business has experienced significant growth over the past decade, expanding to approximately £30m+ turnover following major investment in its production facility.
The local company is a key part of a larger, international group, which provides international backing while retaining strong autonomy at site level. As the business continues to scale, there is now a requirement to appoint a Head of Finance to strengthen financial leadership, governance, and commercial insight.
Description
This is a senior, site-based Head of Finance position with full responsibility for the finance function. Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting operational decision-making and shaping the finance agenda as the business enters its next phase of development.
The role offers genuine breadth, combining hands-on leadership with strategic input, and will suit someone who enjoys operating in a growing, evolving environment, where they can make improvements in line with group and local needs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the finance function across the business
- Strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting as the organisation scales
- Act as a commercial partner to operational and senior leadership teams
- Deliver timely, accurate management information and performance insight
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities
- Ensure effective reporting aligned with group ownership requirements
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and continuous improvement
Profile
The successful candidate for this critical Head of Finance position will meet the following criteria:
- Proven senior finance leadership experience (Head of Finance / FC / FD level)
- Background within manufacturing, food, FMCG, or operational environments
- Strong technical finance capability with a commercial, pragmatic approach
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on role within a growing business
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders locally and at group level
- Able to work on-site in Kent (limited public transport access)
- Willing to travel to Spain on a regular basis, particularly during training and onboarding.
