Job Description

Overview

Sedgemoor Manor School are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team.

We are looking for a passionate handyperson and an enthusiastic DIYer, who will carry out reactive day to day maintenance issues within the site and their grounds. You will also assist in supporting our other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad hoc requests from management as and when necessary.

Responsibilities

Carry out day to day maintenance work across the school and its grounds.

Assist other community homes and liaise with contractors during their on site work.

Respond to ad hoc requests from management as required.

Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 7 and 19 years. Our tailored approach means we can support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. Required Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a maintenance position
  • A good knowledge of COSHH and health and safety in the workplace (training will be provided)
  • Organised, adaptable and thorough in your approach to work
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering (qualifications are not essential)
