PA to Elected Member
- Hourly Rate: £15.56 PAYE

- Job Type: Hybrid (available after training)
We are seeking a PA to provide a flexible, confidential secretarial, clerical, and administrative service to senior elected members (councillors). This role is directed by the Executive PA to the Leader of the Council and/or Head of the Leader's Office. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement after a full training period.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide direct and confidential secretarial support to senior elected members, including word processing and all related secretarial duties.
- Serve as the first point of contact for senior elected members, handling enquiries and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Maintain effective diary management for designated senior elected members, allocating time and commitments appropriately.
- Facilitate the timely preparation and dispatch of documents as requested by designated senior elected members.
- Develop, implement, and maintain information and filing systems as required.
- Ensure timely responses to correspondence as delegated by designated senior elected members.
- Undertake the extraction, analysis, and compilation of data as required.
- Organise meetings, visits, travel, hospitality, and other events, ensuring costs are within best value criteria.
- Work collaboratively with other PAs and EPAs as a team resource, ensuring deadlines are met and providing cover for absence and holidays as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a secretarial or administrative role, preferably within a governmental or similar setting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in standard office software, including word processing and data management tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
