Junior Transport Planner

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10am-7pmContract: Full-time

We're looking for a Junior Transport Planner to join a small, friendly, and supportive team, where everyone pitches in and helps each other out. In this role, you'll create efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery routes across a local network. You'll work closely with the Operational and Transport Teams to maximise fleet utilisation, improve performance, and ensure exceptional service.

What you'll do

• Plan and optimise daily local and national delivery routes
• Schedule loads to meet on-time collection and delivery targets
• Manage overflow deliveries through pallet networks
• Ensure routes comply with drivers' hours, WTD, and vehicle weight regulations
• Review route performance and identify improvements
• Co-ordinate own fleet and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective solutions
• Build strong relationships with partner hauliers
• Communicate effectively across teams to meet operational requirements
• Use TMS systems and follow internal processes

What you'll bring

• Great communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly
• Strong local geographical understanding
• Competent IT skills (Excel, Word etc.)
