Job Description

Panel Test Technician
Telford
Up to 45k DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical testing and quality inspections of control panels, ensuring both functionality and compliance with standards.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical and electrical technical drawings.
  • Verify components meet design specifications and operate correctly.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and manage in-house test equipment, test rigs, and training tools.
  • Perform pre-power, functional, insulation, and resistance testing of control panels, including PLC I/O and VSDs.
  • Record and log test results accurately, identify faults, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other teams to meet project briefs and timelines.
  • Support panel build and wiring activities when testing is not required.
  • Champion safety, quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery within production.
  • Provide guidance and training to colleagues in line with your expertise.
  • Travel to external sites as required.
  • Undertake any additional duties within your capabilities.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in electrical testing, control panel inspection, and VSD/PLC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of calibration, test equipment, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
