Role Purpose

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations that support fast-paced distribution to a wide customer base. The role ensures optimal stock control, team performance, warehouse organisation, and seamless coordination with logistics and customer support teams.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and motivate warehouse teams to meet service and operational targets.
  • Manage workforce planning, shift patterns, training, and performance.
  • Build a positive and accountable culture focused on accuracy, safety, and service excellence.

Operational Performance

  • Oversee picking, packing, loading, and dispatch processes to ensure efficiency and timely deliveries.
  • Maintain high standards of warehouse layout, cleanliness, and organisation.
  • Continuously improve processes to enhance speed, accuracy, and productivity.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Maintain accurate stock levels across a large and varied product portfolio.
  • Lead stock counts, cycle checks, and investigations into discrepancies.
  • Work with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure product availability and stock integrity.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with warehouse safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure corrective actions are promptly completed.

Logistics Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with drivers and logistics teams to ensure efficient daily loading and delivery readiness.
  • Support the delivery operation by ensuring products are organised, rotated correctly, and dispatch-ready.
  • Assist with resolving operational delivery issues when needed.

Customer Service Alignment

  • Work with internal support teams to quickly address stock, delivery, or accuracy issues.
  • Ensure warehouse operations consistently support a high-quality customer experience.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ideal background within a wholesale environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-shift teams.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control and warehouse management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.

Desirable

  • Experience within wholesale, beverages, FMCG, or similar high-volume distribution.
  • Knowledge of product rotation and handling practices for perishable or regulated goods.
  • Forklift certification or experience managing MHE operations.
