Transport Officer

We are currently recruiting for a proactive Transport Officer to support the delivery of efficient and effective transport services within a busy local authority setting.

Rate: £18.68 per hour (umbrella, Inside IR35)

Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week

Duration: Initial contract until June 2026

Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote, with occasional on-site attendance (approximately once every two weeks in Leicestershire)

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support transport operations and scheduling
• Liaise with members of the public, drivers, and key stakeholders
• Handle enquiries professionally via telephone and email
• Maintain accurate records and effectively use internal systems
• Support the wider team in managing workloads and meeting deadlines

Requirements:

• Previous experience within transport or a similar environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Good IT skills and administrative capability
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work
