The Paralegal will work directly with the Partners and Associates on all client matters
from pre-litigation through to trial, appeal and conclusion of proceedings. The paralegal will be
responsible for the day-to-day management of cases including hearing preparation, document
management, managing the flow of information and establishing best practice policies and procedures.

Description
- Coordination and filing of court briefs and related material
- Management and coordination of hearing logistics - trials, appeals and interim hearings
- Preparation of bundles, exhibits, appendices and pre-trial documents
- Document management including managing production processes, document reviews and document platforms
- Management of material received from clients, opposing parties, and third parties (hard copies, electronic data, physical evidence)
- Responsible for case management in relation to documents and document management systems
- Undertake substantive research tasks including (but not limited to) patents, patent histories, life sciences and technology products
- Analyses documents and materials
- Checks legal cites for proper format, content and standing
- Interact with external entities such as: clients, government agencies, expert witnesses, consultants, other law firms, opposing parties, chambers and court personnel
- Communicates with and coordinates witnesses, consultants, experts, and barristers
- Assists team members in compiling material for business development, marketing, articles and pitches
- Develops best practice in the London office
Profile
- Knowledge of filing documents with the High Court and the Civil Procedure Rules essential.
- Past IP litigation experience and experience of patent litigation required.
- Understanding of court procedures and trial logistics.
- Ability to use initiative, anticipate needs, act without direction, asks questions.
- Ability to organise and prioritise numerous tasks with competing demands and complete them under time constraints.
- Willing to take risks, seek challenges, take over difficult or unconventional projects; can take on aproject at any stage.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with ordinary courtesy and and produce final work product.
- Maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff and observes confidentiality of client matters.
- Work requires additional hours to perform the essential duties of the position.
