Material Handler

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our production team. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals looking to build a career in a manufacturing environment. Full training will be provided, with the expectation that all core competencies are developed within 12 months to support progression to Material Handler II.Key Responsibilities

• Follow work schedules and carry out tasks as instructed.
• Perform basic material handling, packing, and production support duties in line with standard operating procedures.
• Operate assigned manual or automated equipment once trained.
• Move raw materials, components, and finished goods as directed.
• Conduct basic visual checks and report any issues or deviations immediately.
• Complete documentation and records clearly and accurately.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE, JSA, COSHH, and site requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area following 5S standards.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
• Adhere strictly to SOPs and avoid deviations without approval.
• Assist with picking, packing, labelling, and material storage.
• Support stock checks and report any discrepancies.
• Carry out basic equipment checks as instructed.
• Work collaboratively within the team and follow direction from Supervisors and Team Leads.
• Be flexible to move between tasks or departments as needed.
• Participate in team activities and improvement initiatives when requested.

Minimum GCSE, or equivalent qualification Basic awareness of health, safety and environmental practices Ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately Good attention to detail and ability to complete routine tasks consistently Willingness to learn and develop new skills Basic computer skills Good communication and teamwork skills Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks Focus on meeting customer and operational delivery requirements
