This role is perfect for someone who wants to turn innovative ideas into customer value using a range of technologies and delivery platforms.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Support all aspects of the software development lifecycle, applying DevOps principles.
- Lead on developing, implementing, enhancing, and managing DevOps practices following agreed processes and best practices.
- Design, release, and implement automated, efficient delivery pipelines and manage deployments onto Production.
- Provide administration, configuration, and troubleshooting support for CI & CD pipelines and hosted container applications.
- Work on delivery, integration, administration, and configuration of DevOps tools.
- Conduct reviews and quality checks for newly delivered code and advocate for security and performance standards.
- Implement and configure DevOps specific monitoring, alerting, auditing, and notification strategies.
- Contribute to technical decisions and directions in a collaborative team environment.
- Attend Team and Agile Scrum ceremonies.
- Promote and encourage the use of test automation and infrastructure-as-code within delivery teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Understanding of DevOps principles and experience in a DevOps or iterative development culture.
- Demonstrable experience with CI & CD tools, including pipeline implementation.
- Awareness of automated testing and embedding this in CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in service support.
- Technical skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines or other CI/CD orchestration tools.
- Experience in containerisation technologies and platforms such as Docker or Azure container services.
- Experience managing and supporting distributed source code repositories (Git).
- Experience of consuming cloud platform resources (Microsoft Azure preferred).
