Elevation Recruitment is working exclusively with a leading plastics manufacturing business in the Mansfield area to recruit an experienced Toolmaker. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on precision tooling in a high-quality, fast-paced environment.Salary: £41,000Shift Pattern: Days only Location: Mansfield

The Role

As a Toolmaker, you will manufacture, maintain, and repair precision moulds, jigs, and fixtures, supporting production and engineering teams to ensure tooling operates reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble mould tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to engineering drawings.
• Perform routine maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on production tooling.
• Operate conventional toolroom machinery (lathes, mills, grinders) and hand tools to precision standards.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD/CAM data to plan and execute machining operations.
• Measure and verify components using precision instruments such as micrometers and gauges.
• Modify tooling to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised toolroom environment.

Skills & Experience

• Time-served Toolmaker qualification or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Experience with precision machining, both manual and CNC desirable.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with injection mould tooling and hot-runner systems advantageous.
