Contact: Emily or Sammy at Pearson Whiffin Recruitment

Salary: £25-30k dependent on experience & skill set

Are you looking to start a genuine career in precision engineering and metal manufacturing?

Do you want to learn how high-quality engineered components are produced - including exposure to CNC machinery - within a supportive and experienced team?

We are working exclusively with a long-established specialist engineering manufacturer based on the outskirts of Maidstone who produce precision-engineered metal components for a variety of bespoke applications.

This is not a production-line environment. Each project is slightly different, requiring accuracy, care and attention to detail.

The Role

This is a hands-on workshop position where you will learn every aspect of the manufacturing process from experienced engineers. Full training will be provided, but you must bring the right attitude and a genuine desire to develop technical skills.

You will be involved in:

  • Assemble and build precision-engineered metal components
  • Work confidently with hand tools and workshop equipment
  • Support the operation of CNC machinery and learn machining principles
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understand tolerances and quality standards
  • Contribute to a team focused on producing high-quality bespoke products
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail

Over time, you will gain exposure to increasingly technical tasks as your confidence and capability grow.

What We're Looking For:

We would love to hear from individuals who:

  • A genuine interest in engineering, metalwork or manufacturing
  • Practical ability and good hand skills
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Willingness to learn technical processes
  • A positive, team-focused attitude

This would suit a college leaver from an engineering or manufacturing course, someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, or an individual looking to move into a structured precision engineering environment.

Why Join?

  • Permanent, stable role within a respected engineering SME
  • Structured training and technical skill development
  • Exposure to CNC machining and precision metal manufacturing
  • Varied, bespoke work - not repetitive assembly
  • Long-term progression potential

If you're serious about building a career in engineering and want to learn the right way from experienced professionals, this is a fantastic opportunity.
