Role Overview

As a Lean & Facilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our factory, plant, machinery, and facilities are safe, compliant, and operating efficiently. You'll lead maintenance activities, collaborate with production teams, and drive initiatives that enhance performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all planned and reactive maintenance activities to maximize uptime.
  • Diagnose, repair, and adjust machinery as needed.
  • Coordinate with specialist contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and asset registers.
  • Drive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Ensure machinery and facilities are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
  • Support Health & Safety compliance, including LOLER inspections, PUWER, RAMS, training, and housekeeping audits.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to embed lean principles and strong workflow practices.

About You
We're looking for a motivated engineer or facilities professional who possesses:

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance experience.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A positive, disciplined approach to safety and compliance.
  • Clear communication skills and a team-focused attitude.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Mechanical/electrical maintenance expertise.
  • Proficiency in machinery fault-finding and repair.
  • Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations (LOLER, PUWER, RAMS).
  • Familiarity with Lean/Continuous Improvement principles (5S, waste reduction, workflow improvement).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving.
