PART-TIME Legal Cost clerk

We're looking for an experienced Cost Clerk to support our Client with the preparation and management of Legal Aid cost claims. This role suits someone with strong knowledge of LAA processes who thrives in a structured, detail-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage Legal Aid bills of costs.
  • Work closely with external Costs Draftsmen and internal fee earners.
  • Check Claim1 forms, disbursements, and documentation for accuracy.
  • Maintain logs, records, and compliance with GDPR.
About You
  • 1-2 years' experience in Legal Aid costing.
  • Strong understanding of LAA procedures, CCMS, and cost assessments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator; able to manage deadlines.
  • Experience with case management systems (e.g., Proclaim, ActionStep) is a bonus.
