Leading UK corporate & investment is seeking a senior credit risk professional to join its growing Infrastructure & Project Finance Credit team. This is a high-impact leadership position at the centre of a market-leading structured finance franchise, with responsibility for guiding credit strategy across core infrastructure and renewable energy sectors in the UK and US.

Description

The Opportunity

  • As one of five Directors within the function, you will lead and develop a team of specialist credit professionals, ensuring the highest standards of technical assessment, decision-making, and portfolio oversight. This role carries delegated lending discretion and offers significant visibility across senior management, origination teams, product partners, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Infrastructure & Project Finance credit specialists, guiding their technical and professional development.
  • Shape and influence structured credit proposals, working closely with asset managers, relationship teams and deal originators.
  • Oversee independent credit assessments across new transactions, refinancings, restructurings and annual reviews, ensuring rigorous analysis of financial, technical and market risks.
  • Monitor portfolio exposures and proactively identify changes to risk profile, escalating where appropriate.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with internal credit policy and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Guide sector research, ensuring credit decisions incorporate robust external insights and scenario/sensitivityanalysis.
  • Lead periodic sector reviews and contribute to policy development.
  • Promote a culture of sound judgement, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.

Profile

What You Bring

  • Significant credit risk and sanctioning experience within the infrastructure and project finance sectors, including renewables.
  • Strong understanding of structured finance modelling, due diligence processes, and asset-class specifics across UK/US markets.
  • Clear, confidentdecision-making ability and strong communication skills, with the credibility to challenge
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality output under time pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and passion for supporting the energy transition and infrastructure investment.
