Job Description

Project Planner
Manchester (Hybrid - site-based, client + remote)
Salary DOE + Training + Development + Pension + Life Insurance

An excellent opportunity awaits a Project Planner looking to work on major water and utilities capital programmes within a forward-thinking business offering variety, progression and development.

This company is a growing digital consultancy supporting complex infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on the digital tools and technology they develop to strengthen project controls across regulated sectors.

In this role you'll be embedded within key infrastructure programmes, supporting the coordination and management of project schedules. You'll work closely with the client, PMs and contractors to keep programmes aligned, track progress against baseline, and highlight risks or slippage. You'll review critical path, support change control, and ensure reporting gives a clear and accurate view of performance. The working pattern is hybrid, typically three days on site or in the office and two days from home.

The ideal candidate will have planning experience across water, utilities, heavy civils or infrastructure. You'll be confident using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, comfortable analysing schedules, and used to working alongside PMs, engineers and contractors. Utilities exposure within regulated capital environments is important.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Planner who wants exposure to major utilities projects, hands-on experience across live capital programmes, and the chance to work within a consultancy where digital capability is central to delivery.

The Role:
Develop and maintain detailed capital project schedules
Integrate contractor programmes into a coordinated plan
Monitor baseline performance and review critical path
Support change control and assess schedule impact
Hybrid working split - 3 days client site/office in Manchester, two days remote

The Person:
Planning experience within water, utilities, infrastructure or heavy civils
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
Comfortable working with PMs, engineers and contractors
Organised, detail-focused, and confident communicating schedule updates clearly
