Job Description

Adecco are recruiting on behalf of East Sussex County Council for an experienced and motivated Business Administrator to join their team.

Position Details

  • Job Title: Business Administrator
  • Employer: East Sussex County Council
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Pay Rate:
    • 13.47 per hour (PAYE)
    • 17.35 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Location: Dorset Road in Bexhill

Please note: Due to the nature of the role and its location, an Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists for Adults & Children is essential.

About the Role

This role provides vital administrative and reception support to ensure the smooth running of services within the Council. You will play a key part in maintaining accurate records, responding to enquiries, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a professional and welcoming environment.

You will also be supporting a team that makes a meaningful difference to the local community, including interacting with staff working both onsite and remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing reception cover and greeting visitors.
  • Responding to email and telephone enquiries professionally.
  • Data entry, record maintenance, photocopying, scanning, and general admin tasks.
  • Drafting correspondence and preparing basic reports.
  • Maintaining filing systems and departmental information.
  • Minute-taking for routine meetings.
  • Supporting managers with diary management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Using MS Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools effectively.
