Production Manager to lead site-wide manufacturing operations within a precision engineering environment, covering machining and assembly functions.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all site production operations

  • Own production performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity

  • Translate site strategy into clear production plans and priorities

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and operators

  • Drive continuous improvement across machining efficiency, flow, labour utilisation, and assembly performance

  • Ensure all quality, process, and compliance standards are followed consistently

  • Partner closely with Engineering and Maintenance to support up time, process capability, and improvement projects

  • Identify and deliver cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities

  • Support capital investment and process optimisation initiatives

  • Build strong succession plans, training frameworks, and leadership capability within Operations

Profile



Ideal Candidate Profile

You'll be a confident production leader with a strong grounding in ideally machining and/or assembly environments, comfortable balancing hands-on operational leadership with strategic decision-making.

You'll bring:

  • Proven Production or Operations Management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience delivering Lean / CI initiatives (5S, SMED, standard work, waste reduction)

  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to engage and challenge teams

  • Solid commercial and financial awareness

  • Calm, structured problem-solving approach in fast-paced environments

  • Engineering or manufacturing-related qualifications preferred
