Locum Principal Planning Lawyer - 2-3 months - Hybrid Working - Up to £65 per hour umbrella - South East

Venn Group's specialist legal team is recruiting for an experienced Locum Principal Planning Lawyer on behalf of a reputable Local Authority in the South East. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planning Lawyer to take on a high-level advisory role within a supportive and friendly team.

Position: Locum Principal Planning Lawyer
Length: 2-3 Months
Working Pattern: Predominantly Remote (attendance required for monthly Planning Committee in the South East)
Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella

• Handle a complex planning caseload, including high-level s.106 agreements and strategic planning matters
• Provide clear, robust advice to Senior Members, Elected Officials, and senior stakeholders
• Offer guidance and oversight to junior colleagues within the Planning team
• Attend and advise at monthly Planning Committee meetings in person
• Ensure all advice and documentation is legally sound, timely, and aligned with local and national planning frameworks

• Strong Local Authority Planning Law experience
• Experience working as a Principal or Senior Lawyer
• Confident in working independently and supporting junior colleagues
