Role Responsibilities
Conduct thorough SEN and Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) assessments in line with JCQ regulations and college procedures
Evaluate learners' needs and determine appropriate support measures, including access arrangements such as extra time, reader/scribe support, rest breaks, and assistive technology
Work closely with teaching staff, support teams, and curriculum leads to gather evidence and ensure accurate recommendations
Produce clear, compliant documentation and maintain accurate records of assessments, outcomes, and supporting evidence
Support learners in understanding their access arrangements and how to use them effectively
Contribute to learner support plans and ensure assessment outcomes inform teaching and support strategies
Ensure safeguarding and learner wellbeing remain central to all assessment and support practices
Essential Requirements
Experience conducting SEN or EAA assessments, or supporting learners with SEND needs within an educational setting
Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and access arrangement processes (or willingness to train)
Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners and staff
A commitment to inclusive learning and ensuring fair access to assessment
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable
Level 7 qualification in assessing for Exam Access Arrangements (or working towards)
Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, or learning barriers
Understanding of EHCPs, support strategies, and assistive technology
Background in learning support, teaching, or specialist assessment
