Job Description
Position: Locum Employment Lawyer
Organisation: East Anglia based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full or Part Time hours can be considered (minimum 3 days per week)
Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote, with occasional office attendance when required
Hourly Rate: £50-£60 per hour, Umbrella dependant on experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in handling Employment Law matters including Employment Litigation & Employment Tribunals and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
Duties may include:- Conducting a caseload which may include claims relating to Sex discrimination, Race Discrimination, Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Disability Discrimination, Age Discrimination and Redundancy
- Conducting a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge
- Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority
- Drafting ET3's and defending Equal Pay Claims, Whistle Blowing Claims and Disability Claims
- Experience handling matters in relation to the Local Government Pension would be desirable
