CMM Inspector - Night Shift Precision Engineering Wolverhampton

We're working with a leading precision engineering business that supplies into high-performance sectors including Motorsport, Automotive, and Defence. They're currently looking for an experienced CMM Inspector to join their night shift team at their Wolverhampton facility.

About the Role

This is a key quality assurance role within a fast-paced precision machining environment. You'll be responsible for inspecting complex components using CMMs (Aberlink software) and a range of manual measuring tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GD&T, be confident generating inspection reports, and capable of working closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with customer specifications.



Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection of machined components using CMMs and manual tools (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Program and operate CMM equipment using Aberlink software.
  • Interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
  • Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, castings, and more.
  • Generate and maintain inspection documentation including ISIRs, FAIRs, and Certificates of Conformity.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, raising concessions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements.


What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in CMM inspection within a precision engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with Aberlink software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Skilled in using manual inspection tools.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience generating CMM programs.
  • Familiarity with FAIRs and ISIRs.
  • Manual handling and lifting equipment training (can be provided if needed).
