Job Description

Arup's purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We have recently implemented a finance change program on a global scale setting goals to become better coordinated in how we operate, to simplify how we work, automate more of what we do, improve efficiency and consistency in our processes, whilst building a stronger control environment to meet both the needs of ourselves and those of external organisations. Always putting sustainable development at the heart of everything we do, the Group Procurement team will be transforming and improving our operations globally.

The Opportunity

We currently have a role for a Senior Procurement Project Manager within the Group Procurement function. In this role, you will be accountable for both leading and supporting a portfolio of key projects within this group, in the context of the wider Global Finance group, that are crucial to the operations of the wider organisation.

These improvements are to be delivered in an efficient and timely fashion. You will manage and lead project teams across multiple regions and disciplines, including external suppliers of platforms and services. You will use your project management skills along with a range of appropriate tools and methods to ensure excellence in delivery of your projects, in full compliance with our organisational policies, technical standards and quality expectations.

Your primary focus will be on executing a portfolio of projects aimed at enhancing procurement processes, systems capabilities, data management, and reporting. From project inception to hand-off, you'll ensure excellence by setting clear expectations, utilising appropriate project management tools, and fostering partnership through platforms like MS Teams. Your role extends to managing stakeholder expectations, maintaining clear communication, and reporting progress to management, all while adhering to timeframes and budgets.

The impact of your work will be evident in the successful, timely, and budget-compliant delivery of projects. You'll play a crucial role in improving operations across the organisation, contributing to a responsive and efficient business function. By embedding strong controls and a proactive approach to risk management, your empathetic influence will ensure smooth project delivery and effective change management, ultimately supporting our client-facing teams in achieving their goals.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  1. Can demonstrate experience of organisational process project delivery, to time and budget, in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, within a corporate procurement/supply chain or related function or environment.
  2. Have experience of projects requiring corporate systems and process integration, change and high levels of stakeholder engagement.
  3. Have knowledge of a wide range of project management processes, approaches, systems and tools to ensure efficient delivery, effective participation and time management.
  4. Have a practical comprehension of the procurement process.
