Subcontractor Gas Engineer / Heating and Plumbing Engineer (CIS) £200 £260 per day + Bonuses + Van + Fuel + iPad Location: Majority of work across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Cambridgeshire, with occasional jobs in London Hours: Monday Friday; 8am 5pm Job Type: Subcontractor (CIS) About Our Client Our client is a fast-growing, family-run plumbing and heating business with over 550 five-star reviews, delivering everything from boiler breakdowns to full bathroom refurbishments. They are looking for an experienced Heating and Plumbing Engineer who can confidently handle a wide range of work across domestic properties. Pay and Earnings: Day Rate: £200 £260 Out-of-Hours Pay: £65 per hour Realistic total earnings: £60,000 £80,000+ per year Bonuses include commission, customer review incentives and performance bonuses (There is no earning cap). What They Provide: Company van Fuel card iPad/tablet Full uniform Company card for approved materials Full admin, office and booking support Busy and consistent workflow It s extremely rare for a CIS subcontractor role to offer this level of support and kit. Responsibilities This is a mixed role covering all aspects of heating and plumbing, including: Boiler breakdowns, diagnostics and repairs Boiler installations Central heating wiring and controls (S/Y-plan, combi wiring, thermostat upgrades) General plumbing repairs Bathroom works (first fix, second fix, leaks, refurbs) Customer service and communication Participation in the on-call rota (enhanced rate) Requirements: Gas Safe Registered strongly preferred Our client ideally wants someone who is already Gas Safe so they can handle boiler diagnostics and installations confidently. However, they will consider a highly competent Engineer who is not yet Gas Safe if they have: Strong heating system knowledge Excellent wiring and controls understanding Confident fault-finding and breakdown skills Solid plumbing and bathroom experience The ability to work independently For the right candidate, they can support progression into Gas Safe. Additional Requirements: Age 25+ (fleet insurance) Full UK driving licence (max 6 points) NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent) Own tools Reliable, confident and professional Strong communication and customer service Why Join Our Client? At JEM Property Services, we specialize in delivering high quality, reliable reactive repairs, after sales services and maintenance as well as plumbing, central heating & electrical services across the South of England. Joining our team as a Domestic Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for: Attending boiler breakdowns Conducting repairs to heating systems Boiler and heating system servicing General plumbing leaks and replacing of parts. Conducting landlord inspections and boiler installs. Requirements Could this be the ideal role for me? Candidates must hold current domestic gas accreditations and qualifications, plumbing qualifications and an un-vented certificate.
