2nd Line Support Technician Cambridge Outskirts £30,000 to £36,000 Still getting your weekend interrupted by the same unstable server because management refuses to fund a permanent fix? You need to leave. If you are a 2nd line support technician, you know the exhausting drain of working in a chaotic environment. You want to lead on major infrastructure projects, influence client cloud strategies, and actually solve root issues, but instead, you are stuck firefighting the same preventable tickets over and over because no one invests in long term solutions. It does not have to be that way. We are partnering with a leading technology and digital services company on the outskirts of Cambridge that actively structures workloads to protect your mental well being. They believe a burnt out technician cannot deliver great service. That is why they give you a balanced, squad supported schedule, giving you the time to actually take technical ownership of Office 365 migrations, network setups, and Intune deployments, whilst offering genuine pathways to specialise and move into senior engineering or management. The Benefits Unmatched Work Life Balance: Start with 33 days of holiday scaling up to 35, flexible working options, hybrid working after probation, and open plan offices with breakout gaming setups and BBQ spaces. Health and Well being First: Full Vitality private health insurance, Aviva Smart Health with 24/7 digital GPs, short term sick pay, income protection, and free, confidential personal life coach access. Continuous Reward and Growth: Clear technical progression plans tailored to your goals, regular salary reviews, monthly performance awards, a green electric car scheme, and extensive Perkbox benefits. The Role You will provide high touch remote and on site infrastructure support across small to medium sized business networks. Rather than just closing tickets mindlessly, you will take the technical lead on server installs, sharepoint deployments, and complex Azure AD work. Supported by regular Lunch and Learn sessions, you will look after everything from router installations and SSL VPN configuration to complex email migrations and DNS management for a diverse client base. Are You the Right Fit? To excel here, you need a strong structured approach to problem solving and excellent client facing DNA. You must bring proven troubleshooting skills across Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, network switches, and Acronis backups. Ideally, you have two or more years of experience supporting SMEs within an MSP or outsourced IT environment. A full UK driving licence is essential for client site visits. Valid Right to Work in the UK is required. The Next Step At CloudScope Group, we do not just fill seats; we open doors to better careers. If you are ready to trade chaotic firefighting for a structured infrastructure role where you can actually progress your technical skill set, let's have a low pressure conversation today.
