Come shape the future of education with us. At Compass, we love working with schools and strive to deliver new innovations, functions, and process improvements as new technology becomes available. Our services are specifically designed to improve not only the school process but also community culture and student learning outcomes. Compass is a product that genuinely provides students, teachers, and parents with an improved educational experience. You can leave at the end of each day knowing you made a difference to a student's education or helped make a staff member's day just that little bit better. Our school management ecosystem is now used in more than 5,000 schools across Australia and beyond. We're joined by over 300+ members of the Compass team, building the operating system for schools worldwide. About the Role & Team This is a rare one: you'll be Compass Education's very first dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist. You'll own end-to-end recruitment from day one, working shoulder-to-shoulder with hiring managers across the business to find and win the people who'll fuel our next chapter of growth in edtech; a space where the work you do genuinely shapes better outcomes for schools, teachers and students. Reporting to the Head of People and working alongside a P&C Business Partner and a P&C Coordinator, you'll join a team that genuinely supports each other and celebrates each other's wins. You'll also have real autonomy; you won't just execute a hiring strategy, you'll help build it. From how we tell our story to candidates, to the hiring process itself, to what great candidate experience looks like as we scale. What you'll do: Own full-cycle recruitment across all business functions, from intake briefings with hiring managers through sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer and close. Act as the primary administrator of our Workable ATS: maintaining job postings, pipelines, interview scorecards, offer templates and recruitment reporting. Build proactive talent pipelines for hard-to-fill and recurring roles rather than relying solely on reactive, ad-hoc sourcing. Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview panels and assessment approaches that are fair, consistent and reflective of Compass's values. Champion the candidate experience end-to-end: timely communication, well-run interviews, and a smooth handover to the P&C Coordinator for onboarding. Develop and maintain Compass's employer brand: careers page content, social presence and messaging that reflects our culture and mission in edtech. Track and report on recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, source of hire, pipeline conversion, diversity of slate) to the Head of People, and use that data to continuously improve the process. Collaborate with the P&C Business Partner on workforce planning and headcount forecasting, and with the P&C Coordinator to ensure a seamless handoff from offer through to day-one onboarding. Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and external partners where needed, and identify opportunities to reduce reliance on them over time. Stay close to market trends in tech and edtech hiring to keep Compass competitive on process, positioning and candidate experience. About You 2-4 years' experience in full-cycle recruitment, ideally including time as a sole TA function within a growing business. Hands-on experience with Workable, or a comparable ATS Confident sourcing across multiple channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Seek, direct outreach, referrals) and comfortable building talent pipelines from scratch. Strong stakeholder management skills; able to influence and guide hiring managers, including senior leaders, through a structured hiring process. Comfortable working autonomously as the sole TA specialist, while collaborating closely with the wider P&C team and knowing when to escape. Data-literate, able to track recruitment metrics and translate them into clear updates and recommendations for the Head of People. Experience recruiting for technology, SaaS or edtech businesses is a strong plus, but not essential. A genuine interest in Compass's mission of transforming school management technology for the education community. Why join Compass? Real ownership: shape the talent acquisition function from the ground up, not just execute an existing playbook. A tight-knit, supportive P&C team where your work is visible and valued by leadership. Hybrid working from our Melbourne office, with flexibility built in. The opportunity to help scale a business with a genuine, values-led mission in education. What's in it for you? We come together with our unique strengths to work towards a common purpose - shaping the future of education. When you join our team, you will collaborate with individuals who are passionate, driven, and open to embracing change in a fast-paced environment. A flexible working culture. Learning & Development opportunities - we want you to grow and get the most out of your role! Parental Leave Program for both primary and secondary carers. 24/7 access to our Employment Assistance Program (EAP) through the means of face-to-face, livechat and phone support. It is a really exciting time to join Compass. We are growing and need people who want to grow with us. We value individuals who are self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to contribute to the success of our company. Compass is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Perhaps you're already a Senior Receptionist, Reception Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Administrator or Clinic Coordinator and enjoy being the person others naturally turn to when something needs sorting. We're recruiting for an established multidisciplinary healthcare clinic in Taunton looking for an experienced Senior Clinic Administrator / Reception Team Lead to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. This is not simply a standard receptionist position. You'll remain hands-on with patients, appointments, calls and administration, but you'll also provide day-to-day leadership and support to an existing team of two receptionists. You'll help organise workloads, maintain high standards, support your colleagues with more complex situations and make sure the reception function runs smoothly, professionally and efficiently. Working closely with the clinic's senior management team, you'll be trusted to identify problems, take ownership and resolve day-to-day issues rather than simply passing everything upwards. For the right person, it's a brilliant opportunity to step into a role where you'll genuinely have an impact on how the clinic operates and, importantly, how patients experience the service from the moment they first get in touch. What You'll Be Doing Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic's reception function Providing leadership, guidance and support to two existing reception team members Organising and prioritising reception workloads Helping maintain consistently high standards of patient care, communication and administration Supporting and developing a positive, collaborative reception team Acting as a point of escalation for more complex patient enquiries or situations Identifying day-to-day operational issues and resolving them where appropriate Escalating more significant matters to senior management when required Providing a warm, professional and efficient front-of-house service Acting as a first point of contact for patients in person, by telephone and electronically Booking and managing patient appointments Responding to patient enquiries and providing accurate information about clinic services Managing emails and other patient communications promptly and professionally Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records Processing payments and handling cash accurately Monitoring and replenishing clinic and office stock Helping maintain and improve administrative systems and procedures Supporting Health & Safety procedures, including fire drills and associated record keeping Undertaking additional administrative and operational responsibilities appropriate to a senior clinic administration role About You To be considered, you'll need: A minimum of 3 years' experience within reception, administration or a busy client/patient-facing office environment Previous experience supervising, leading, mentoring or providing day-to-day direction to other reception or administrative staff Experience taking responsibility for the smooth running of a reception, front-of-house or administrative function Confidence dealing with more complex customer, client or patient enquiries The ability to resolve day-to-day problems independently and know when something needs escalating Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands Strong written and verbal communication skills A warm, approachable and professional manner Strong attention to detail Confidence using IT systems, appointment diaries, email and administrative software The ability to remain calm and organised within a busy environment A genuine understanding of the importance of excellent customer or patient experience Even Better If Experience within healthcare would be particularly welcome, including private healthcare clinics, Physiotherapy or Osteopathy clinics, GP or medical practices, dental practices, hospitals or other appointment-led healthcare environments. However, healthcare experience isn't essential if you have strong transferable experience leading a busy reception or administrative team within another professional, customer-focused environment. Why This Role? This clinic places enormous importance on the patient experience. For many patients, reception is their first interaction with the clinic, and the way that first telephone call, email or face-to-face conversation is handled can shape their entire experience. That's why they're looking for someone who doesn't see reception as simply answering phones and booking appointments. They want someone who takes pride in standards, notices when something could work better, supports the people around them and enjoys being trusted with responsibility. If you're an experienced Senior Receptionist, Senior Administrator, Clinic Coordinator or Reception Team Leader looking for a role where you can remain people-facing whilst taking the next step in responsibility, we'd love to hear from you.
