Qualification Requirements:
Early Year Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childhood or childcare, education studies, or similar relevant qualification.
Paediatric First Aid qualification (preferred).
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in a large primary school in York. The ideal candidate will be caring, forward-thinking, proactive, and dynamic, and will be ready to have an innovative approach to childhood development. You will have the opportunity to help children explore their boundaries, follow their imagination, and guide their learning. You will also work closely with other staff members and parents to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Job Duties:
Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities for children
Maintain a safe and stimulating environment for children
Provide personal care and support to children
Keep records of children's progress and development
Collaborate with other staff members and parents to ensure effective communication
Contribute to the overall well-being and development of children
Adhere to all safeguarding and health and safety policies
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education.
Prior experience in a nursery or early years setting (desirable).
Knowledge and Skills:
Comprehensive understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
Ability to develop and deliver age-appropriate activities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Safeguarding training (this will be provided)
Working Conditions:
The role of EYFS Nursery Support involves working in a nursery or early years setting. The working hours are full-time, and the role is permanent. Individuals will interact with children, parents, and other staff members on a daily basis. It is essential to adhere to safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
