Our client is a leading law firm based in Southampton. The ideal candidate will gain experience and include work from the Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, Commercial Litigation and Property Litigation teams.

The Southampton office Costs Department is seeking a Costs Lawyer to be an effective member of the team.

Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience and be responsible for the preparation of Court of Protection Bills of Costs, Costs Budgets and providing relevant advice.

Your duties will include:

• Preparing bills of costs, replies, and costs budgets
• Preparing files for assessment (provisional and detailed)
• Assisting the Costs Director on complex high value costs matters

It is essential you have:

• Strong understanding of CPR, SRA regulations and COP protocols
• Can work effectively in the Costs and the Court of Protection Groups

A relevant qualification from Association of Law Costs Draftsmen or a law degree would be beneficial but is not essential for this role.

You should also have previous experience of working in a law firm, present with strong IT skills and be familiar with the relevant software.

Salary is dependent on experience & includes an attractive benefits package.
